Role DescriptionThis is a part-time Graphic Design Intern position located in Raleigh, NC. The selected Intern will work directly with our Marketing team assisting in the design of packaging and digital/printed marketing materials. Being located in Raleigh, NC, is required for this position. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on CPG design experience in the dynamic environment of the cannabis/hemp industry.

Our broader team and partnerships includes a diverse group of engineers, marketers, creatives, sales professionals, scientists, agriculturalists. You will be working closely with our small team in full transparency. This will be key to our success.

Design Contest (required)In our search to find a local graphic designer, we present a small test project. This is where we can understand your style, organization, and ability to follow instruction. As this is an unpaid design contest, we want to be cognisant of your time and we are not looking for a final and complete design. Treat this as a preliminary design concept. We are very excited about your interest in our company and look forward to seeing what you can come up with!

ResponsibilitiesDesign Packaging for New Products Create eye-catching graphics, illustrations, and layouts for various marketing and branding materials.Print out packaging and label prototypes with our Roland UV Printer.Lead and execute packaging innovation projectsSupport ideating and realizing cost savings goals.Perform packaging sustainability assignments to help meet Farmers Foundry sustainability goals.Collaborate with cross functional team members including Sales, product development, and manufacturing. Assist in preparation of documentation and specifications for packaging materials

QualificationsAre currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Graphic Design or related field (i.e. Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, etc.), or at least 2 years of experience.Can produce a solid portfolio of previous design work that demonstrates your passion for graphic design and desire to expand your skills - the more creative the better!Very good familiarity Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator & PhotoshopStrong understanding of graphic design principles, visual hierarchy, typography, and color theoryWillingness to work at our office in Raleigh, NC. Strong problem solving skills and a continuous improvement mindsetCollaborative and able to work in a team environmentAbility to deliver results on challenging assignmentsExperience and/or interest in the cannabis industry and a strong design aesthetic that will appeal to our target audienceRoland Versaworks (preferred)

Physical RequirementsAbility to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction.
