We’re on the lookout for a few highly skilled technicians for our Class 8 Heavy-Duty trucks. In this role, you’ll be assembling and improving current and future models of Nikola trucks. You’ll use your skills in pneumatic brakes, suspension, cooling and electrical systems to meet all project needs and get the vehicles ready for prime time. 

Responsibilities

Frame up build of Prototype trucks Teardown and rebuild entire sections of trucks with new experimental parts Assist in the design and modifying of specialized parts as needed for all types of vehicles Advanced understanding of Class 8 electrical and pneumatic systems, 12v, 24v, and 800v systems Perform quality inspections of vehicles Effectively correlate with Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Teams as needed Execute repairs to proper specifications with little to no instructions Manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications

Minimum (3) three years' experience in R&D, manufacturing, or related field Previous expertise in class-8 alt-fuel environment is a plus High degree of mechanical aptitude with a focus on efficiency, including the use of all basic and advanced hand and power tools Experience as welder MIG/TIG is a plus Diagnostic skills Certification in hybrid and electric vehicles Effective oral & written communication Ability to follow directions while being a self-starter Ability to use a computer, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point Ability to quickly learn new software for build process A customer first attitude Physical stamina to (including but not limited to) stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grip, lift, etc Comprehension of and adherence to safety & policy practices Must be able to travel abroad for specialized training
