Senior ITS Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Assume overall responsibility for project technical accuracy and proficiency. Bring expertise in ITS design, operations, and construction, with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience encompassing transportation engineering assessments, design projects, traffic operations assignments, fieldwork, and project/staff management. Demonstrate proficiency in industry standards (NTCIP, NEMA, IEEE, NEC) and familiarity with various transportation agencies ITS standards and specifications. Offer technical guidance and ensure compliance with NYSDOT, NYSDOT, and PANY&NJ design standards. Successfully deliver transportation projects/studies within scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Review drawings and documents to ensure alignment with company and client design standards, as well as adherence to QA/QC procedures. Lead ITS systems engineering and design activities for transportation projects, including managing clients, projects, and design teams, and overseeing the development and review of design documents and technical specifications. Mentor junior staff, providing training opportunities and guidance on advancing project and design responsibilities.

Qualifications For Success

Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent. Possess a Professional Engineer License in New York or New Jersey. 15+ years of experience in transportation engineering assessments, design projects, traffic operations assignments, fieldwork, project management, and staff supervision. Demonstrate a robust technical background in ITS design, operations, and construction. Actively engage in at least two professional associations related to the industry.
