Job Summary:The Senior Front End Engineer will be part of a team that’s responsible for the operation of nordic.com l, including the development of features that help improve upon user experience and/or business value. Additionally, this team will functionally support the rest of the Nordic Naturals business with various technical and web projects/requests.

Location Statement:This is a remote position for those who live outside of 40 miles from Nordic Naturals headquarters in Watsonville, CA. Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain coding standards to ensure front-end coding practices are consistent across the team and meet company style and brand standardsEngage in UX planning and translate the user journey into an effective UIBuild rich user experiences and be a steward for the end-userTranslate front-end requirements into technical architectureUtilize Git & command line for efficient code updates & deploymentsContinually identify opportunities to leverage template & CMS technologies, either in Wordpress (headless environments) or within ShopifyDevelop advanced website features and functionalities by harnessing expertise in React.js and similar JavaScript frameworks.Work cross functionally to solve complex problems with best-in-class solutionsEvaluate technologies in a rapidly changing frontend landscape and apply new technologies as appropriateTake on full stack responsibilities as the team requiresAdopt and support a mobile-first approach to development and thinkingWrite documentation in ConfluenceCollaborate closely with Web team, conducting code reviews and accepting feedback

Position Qualifications:Expert level knowledge and demonstrable experience in HTML/CSS, including familiarity with CSS frameworks such as BootstrapMastery of ReactJS, including complex state management, component architecture, and performance optimization.Expert in Liquid templating language (Shopify)Experience using GatsbyJS frameworkProficient in Git version control & command line operationsProficient in integrating third-party (e.g. Klaviyo, OneTrust, Bazaarvoice, etc) and custom tools via APIs and plugins for enhanced functionality.Knowledge of various full stack, DevOps and data competencies including, but not limited to: leveraging APIs to build custom apps using NodeJS (or similar), AWS and other serverless technologies, version control systems (Bit Bucket), SQL, and more

Key Contributions in First Year:Become an expert on all Nordic web platforms and third-party toolsConsistently deliver tasks totalling 13 story points during each two-week sprintMentor internal and external developers to ensure Nordic’s team is following best practicesEnhance the Nordic.com user experience by identifying bugs or areas of improvement

Pay, Benefits & Perks:The estimated annual pay for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. This pay is an estimate and the exact compensation may vary depending on an applicant's location, skills, prior experience, professional qualifications, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may also include incentive compensation (i.e. bonus or commission) if applicable.
