📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Heavy Civil Construction ESTIMATOR
The Estimator will be responsible for the pricing of activities assigned by the Lead Estimator including all required takeoffs and procurement of all vendor and subcontractor quotes necessary to support the cost of heavy civil construction projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview project plans, requirements, and specifications.Preparation and pricing of Bid items.Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing.Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.Understand project logistics and project schedule.Pre-bid and final Bid review with Project team.Perform other duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree preferred in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, but not required.3-7 years estimating experience in civil construction, preferably with underground utilities, treatment plant, and microtunneling.Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.Effective presentation, oral and written skills, deadline and detail-orientedStrong computer skills in Office 365, HCSS Heavy Bid/Heavy Job, Planswift Takeoff Software or equivalent.Some travel to job site is required. Ability to prioritize, well-organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-task oriented.
