Northrop Grumman's Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Business Unit s is seeking an experienced Director (D1) to lead a portfolio of programs and serve as the site lead at our Colorado Springs, CO facility.

The Director will provide the leadership, management, and vision to ensure top performance on current programs, and capture of future program opportunities. As a member of the MDS Business Unit Leadership Team, the position will direct strategic and operational initiatives to effectively grow the business and ensure continued financial strength and operating efficiency. The Director must possess the leadership skills to inspire a geographically dispersed team through integrity, trust, conviction, respect, and the ability to articulate strategy and lead operations.

In this position, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following:Basic Qualifications:

Leading a team of Program Managers to enable high performing and robust program execution, inclusive of being the Program's PRA Proactively identify potential program risks and manage a robust Opportunities and Risk Management process across the programs. Overseeing all status and reporting cadence to the BU Support all program life cycle reviews to include new program start-up(s) and participate in existing program reviews. Actively support NAR/ICE reviews of bids. Leading Program Managers to ensure consistent and timely reporting of activities for IPRS, dashboards, metrics, MMR and BU milestones.Building strong customer relationships inside and outside of current portfolio Building relationships between departments and functional staff to ensure success in meeting business and operational goals /objectives. Supporting the Long Range Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan and assist in the development of new business acquisition objectives.Partnering with our Employee Experience and HR teams to drive industry leading employee engagement scores while promoting and fostering a culture of trust and belonging. Bachelor's degree in a technical, business or related field Minimum of 15 years of experience, half of which has been in program leadership Secret clearance with the ability to be granted TS/SCI Must be able to travel up to 25% Experience with Defense Community customers and major primes Possess a broad background with a varying portfolio of experiences including systems engineering, hardware, software, integration and services. Successful track record in bidding and leading programs with successful, quantifiable business results Proven record in customer relations; expectation management; negotiations; and building and sustaining coalitions with customers, government support staff, and other contractors Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts and influence outcomes at the executive level Successful Leadership and management of a large program or a portfolio of programs. Familiarity with cost plus award fee, cost plus fixed fee, firm fixed price, and cost-plus incentive fee contracting and subcontracting

Preferred Qualifications

M.S. or MBA degree in a technical, business or related field Personal technical understanding of the key concepts and methods associated with development and test operations, modeling and simulation, IT global enterprise, and warfighter support Familiarity with Performance-Based Acquisition contracting (e.g., Performance Work Statement (PWS), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs)) Strong understanding of Northrop Grumman policies and practices and / or in a similar corporate culture Strong leadership and teamwork skills

Salary Range: $190,600 - $285,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
