Come be a part of our mission.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a RF Microwave Design Engineer Manager 2, to join their team in Baltimore, MD.

Salary Range: $145,000 - $217,400

The position is a vital part of the Sub-System Leadership (SSL) Department focused mainly on Antenna Design, Analysis, Integration, and Test. The position is approximately 20% functional organization management with 12-15 team members and 80% direct contract work (program related work). The role will focus on three primary areas of responsibility: department strategy, team leadership, and technical performance.

Team Leadership Responsibilities include:Functional oversight of a section of engineers working multiple programs, IRAD initiatives, and new business capture opportunitiesLead an engineering functional group of 12 to 15 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planningStaffing and workload forecastingManpower and resource assignmentFacilitate knowledge sharing and mentoringRecruiting, hiring, and onboarding new and experienced employeesProvide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the groupEnsure application of design processes and guidelines used in the groupEmployee inclusion, engagement, and mentoringPerformance management and career developmentIdentification of skills required to execute on programs and needed employee training.Technical Performance Responsibilities Include:Support and adherence to engineering processesOversight of technical quality for various development, integration, or production programsAnalysis of design tools, processes, and technologies needed to support strategic product plansTechnical risk assessment and mitigationSupport for new business development and proposals.Development and advancement of the technology, including supporting organization initiatives around streamlining the design and test process by determining more efficient methodologies.The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.The candidate will work closely with engineering teams, technical advisors and managers of other engineering disciplines, program directors and program managers. The ideal candidate will also be able to champion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business. 10% travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications: (Must Have)Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) disciplineMinimum of 9 years of professional relevant experience (7 years with MS; 4 years with Ph.D.)Must be experienced in all aspects of the hardware engineering process, from requirements analysis through verification testing with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentMinimum 3 years of technical leadershipHigh proficiency in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoringMust have an Active Secret clearance, and have the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearanceUS Citizenship

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
