The Histology Technologist II will be responsible for preparing specimens for cutting and mounting using auto-tissue processors, paraffin-embedding equipment, and microtomes. Prepares microscopic slides for immediate examination by Pathologists to obtain a diagnosis.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities/License Or Certification Required
Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program, or currently working towards completion of training program.Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills.Certification- eligible applicants must pass examination within eighteen (18) months after school graduation, or after moving to the state of Georgia.All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities/License Or Certification Preferred
Computer keyboard and information system experience.Immuno chemistry experience and/or training.B.S. degree in science, plus successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program.
