Senior Accountant

SummaryReporting to the Controller, this non-exempt, full-time position assists in accounting and investment functions.

Responsibilities:Assists Chief Financial Officer and Controller in accounting and investments functionsPrepares monthly journal entries for two foundationsPrepares monthly financial statements for two foundationsAssists in the accounting oversight of the investment portfolio for two foundations and the Museum, including analysis, reconciliation and reporting of investment activities and performanceInputs investment transactions for approval for two foundations and the MuseumPrepares various financial reports for the annual audits of two foundationsAssists with the preparation of financial reports needed for various tax filings and other state regulatory reportingPrepares various financial reports for board meetingsPrepares monthly bank reconciliations for two foundations and the MuseumPrepares quarterly sales tax returns and submits payment for two foundations and the MuseumProcesses check requests for two foundations, ensuring accurate and timely paymentPrepares insurance renewal applications for two foundations and the MuseumProcesses daily attendance reports and produces spreadsheets for the MuseumProcesses Garden Café reports for the MuseumExecutes special projects, as needed

QualificationsPosition requires good judgment and communication, ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, and excellent finance (math) and computer skills. Prefer college degree and minimum five years prior experience in accounting or finance.

Physical RequirementsThis position is in an indoor office setting, with frequent use of office equipment including computer, keyboard, and mouse. May involve long periods of sitting and standing. Must be able to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 15 pounds.

ScheduleThis position is scheduled to work on-site from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
