Engineering Technician - Construction Materials Testing

Established in 1996, NOVA was originally founded to provide Environmental Consulting, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services to the design and construction community, largely in the southeastern United States. We offer a stimulating and inspiring work environment where our employees are recognized for their efforts and achievements and are mentored for professional growth.NOVA is seeking Engineering Technicians - Construction Materials Testing Technicians out of the Tallahassee, FL office location.Responsibilities:Field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specificationsReview of blueprints in preparation of field observations on construction sitesDocumentation of field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specificationsDaily use of Metafield, and/or other field and laboratory information management systems, for recording of testing resultsCommunication of field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clientsCalibration of field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standardsQualifications:High school diploma/GED requiredExperience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials preferredACI, ICC, and GDOT certifications are a huge plus

Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language, requiredAbility to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs.
