How You'll Perform The Role

The Product Development Engineer has primary responsibility for the development of innovative, cost-effective flexible packaging solutions. As a part of a fully integrated cross-functional team, he/she will deliver against key development projects, generating a pipeline of new ideas and supporting needs at production facilities while maintaining high quality standards for materials. This position requires some travel for customer and trial support.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

Successfully develop innovative, cost-effective flexible structures that meet project requirements.Develop, coordinate, and conduct packaging trials to validate and advance new packaging solutions.Support sales by understanding customer needs and implementing cost effective solutions to address them.Provide customer technical support for newly developed products and for optimization of existing products.Develop creative and new solutions to assist in growing the business into new markets.Keep abreast of evolving technologies that impact our business and communicate the implications to the business lead team and across functional teams.Utilize Lean Six Sigma methods to minimize waste and reduce variability in development and manufacturing processes.

What We Need From You

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, chemistry, or polymer science required.In depth knowledge of manufacturing process of packaging materials, including experience and understanding in blown film extrusion processing and troubleshooting is preferred.5+ years' demonstrated experience in product development capacity.Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
