Energy Analyst

Terms of EmploymentW2 Contract, 12 Months (Possible Extension)This position is hybrid with up to 3 days in the office. The office is located in Oak Brook, IL.Working hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.OverviewOur client is seeking a Net Metering Consultant to support the Green Power Connection Team (GPC). GPC is the team within the company that helps customers manage their green power journey, which is typically related to solar energy, battery storage, and electric vehicles. Requests come in from many sources including the phone lines, email, social media, website, through municipal leaders and through regulators. The customers are on a journey and the GPC team is trying to help the customer wherever they are in their green power journey, without necessarily having a script for everything that could come up. They provide support to customers by answering questions, provide solar materials and resources including our website and proactive communications, and coordinate with internal departments to resolve any issues that customers have.ResponsibilitiesEducating customers about green power options and corresponding programs and services.Providing guidance and assistance to customers who choose green power as they navigate the net metering and interconnection process.Responding to questions and concerns about net metering application status, net metering credits, green power-related energy usage, and billing, etc.Internal green power outreach, educating customer-facing employees with expertise needed to serve as extensions of the Green Power Connection Team – and internal green power outreach designed to expand the population of green power ambassadors.External green power outreach including providing green power education at community events.Services to customers including preventing gaps in net metering credits, supporting optimization of net metering credits, protecting against misleading green power claims by independent parties, etc.Support and manage the net metering application and enrollment process as it aligns with the legislative requirements. This includes corresponding and interacting with internal and external departments and customers to ensure customer accounts are appropriately assigned to net metering.Monitor, interface, and coordinate activities with other departments to ensure proper meter exchanges, submit billing requests, and completion of the enrollment process.Correspond with customers to ensure that required forms and agreements are completed and returned by the customer.Inform designs, test, and deploy software and other tools used to best manage customer green power journeys.Required Skills & Experience2-5 years of experience.Knowledge of solar, wind, and other renewable energy technologies.Customer service skills and experience.Knowledge of utility industry including an understanding net metering and interconnection concepts.Comfortable with MS Office software (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, OneNote, Powerpoint, etc).Ability to learn specialty software used in the department.Possess good listening skills, empathy, and ability to interact respectfully with many kinds of customers.Ability to explain technical and complex topics, customized for individual customer understanding.Ability to synthesize information gleaned from multiple systems to determine possible issue, next steps, and path forward.Solar/Net Metering/Interconnection knowledge or experience.Understanding of state and federal clean energy programs and incentives.Strong interest/passion in advancing clean energy technologiesExcellent communication skills.Preferred Skills & ExperienceCollege degreeKnowledge of energy efficiency.Power BI experience.
