OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Solutions Developer to join our retail energy team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing custom solutions for loading and extracting large volumes of data to and from our business systems. They will play a crucial role in analyzing complex business system requirements, identifying root causes of issues, and implementing effective solutions to optimize system functionality and performance.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop custom solutions for loading and extracting large volumes of data to and from our business systems.Analyze and understand complex business system requirements and provide solutions using tools such as MS-SSMS, SQL Scripts, Excel Macros, VBA, and other relevant technologies.Address root causes of issues to reduce or prevent them from recurring, ensuring system stability and reliability.Optimize system functionality and performance through continuous improvement initiatives and proactive problem-solving.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and implement solutions that meet business needs.Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, workflows, and solutions implemented.Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to data management, database optimization, and system integration.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience as a VBA/VB/Excel Developer, with strong proficiency in Excel Macros, VBA scripting, and Excel functions.In-depth knowledge of key concepts of SQL databases, including relational database design, SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.Experience with tools such as MS-SSMS (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio) for database management and administration.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and develop effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in the retail energy industry or similar domain is a plus.
Preferred SkillsExperience with other programming languages and technologies, such as Python, R, or PowerShell.Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to data management and security
