Basic Job Functions
The role of Accountant will require you to d em onstrate integrity, ownership, positive outlook, and ability to work in a team environment. This position will be responsible for the execution of day-to-day and period-end financial responsibilities, and long-term projects assigned by supervisor and/or management. The qualified candidate must have the ability to work in a dynamic team environment with tight deadlines that may require working extended hours and/or working on holidays. It may require occasional travel to other Nucor locations.
General Responsibilities will include
Assisting with GAAP accounting and financial reporting Cost accounting & cost analysis Constant focus on process improvement and innovative solutions to challenges Ownership of long-term projects Cross training within finance department Collaboration across division and corporation Cooperating with and supporting production teammates Tax schedules preparation/filing
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
Supervisor and/or Manager recommendation Strong Microsoft Excel skills BA in Accounting or Finance Willingness to relocate for future advancement
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, MAcc or CPA Previous experience in steelmaking or manufacturing accounting
