POsition SUmmary
The position of Janitor I is responsible for custodial upkeep of the facility and production equipment. This includes but is not limited to: cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy, and empties trash receptacles. This individual will also support nVent goals in any way that management requests with a positive attitude and be willing to flex daily responsibilities as needed.
Key role responsibilities
Complete all assigned task in a safe, professional, and timely manner.Work regular schedule and overtime when requested.Improve skills and increase knowledge relating to the job.Powerboss Floor sweeping and mopping.Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.Clean and disinfect equipment.Vacuum rugs/ mats.Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.Mix various cleaning agents.Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.Move heavy equipment and furniture.Identify and report possible repairs.Shovel snow from sidewalks and sprinkle salt on surface.Aerial lift capability to monthly clean walls and ceilingsRoof access to clean sulfate off roofAbility to operate trash compactorHandle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
Qualifications And Experience
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.Basic reading and writing skills.Ability to work well under minimal supervision.Capacity to take direction.Strong attention to detail.Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary.
