📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Office of Safety and Youth Development (OSYD), the Project Manager supports Child Abuse Prevention/Intervention across the various programs under the Counseling Support Unit, including Crisis Supports, Comfort Dogs, Gender Equity, Counseling Supports, and Substance Abuse Prevention/Intervention development and implementation of school leadership programs and superintendent convenings. The Project Manager provides comprehensive support to Executive Director of OSYD and Citywide Coordinator of Child Abuse with the management of school staff professional development and programs and superintendent office engagement, including event coordination and oversight, maintenance of web-based platforms for program participants, preparation of program materials, and program recruitment and selection. Performs related work.

Key Relationships: Executive Director, OSYD; Counseling Support Directors and staff; Citywide Coordinator of Child Abuse and Maltreatment Prevention; ACS and City agencies, school communities and parents.
Responsibilities
Assists Executive Director of OSYD and Citywide Coordinator of Child Abuse Prevention in managing communications and shared resources with Division of Counseling, Superintendents, and community partners. Provides direct administrative assistance to Executive Director of OSYD and Citywide Coordinator of Child Abuse Prevention including managing correspondence, scheduling, and liaising with ACS and OSYD Counseling programs, Superintendents, and Chiefs of Staff on Executive Director’s behalf.Leads event planning, including Citywide Professional Development and monthly meetings.Participates on the PD Planning Committee and bi-monthly meetings with other senior staff members to prepare for monthly team meetings and professional development sessions.Liaises with Superintendent Designees and Student Service Managers to provide support for all child abuse issues on an ongoing basis.Compiles Citywide Designated Liaison Fall Training attendance database for NYS Office of Children and Family Services.Maintains complete annual Designated Liaison lists for Child Abuse and Suicide Prevention, based on Office of Safety and Youth Development Consolidated Plan. Disseminates to all ACS partners.Disaggregate and disseminate the monthly and annual State Central Register (SCR) and Foster Care reports for all Borough Offices, Universal Pre-K, CBO Pre-K, District 75, District 79, YABC, and Early Childhood Directors through SharePoint.Reviews all Suicide Online Occurrence Reports (OORS) and follows up/forwards copies of the reports to the Designated Student Service Managers or Superintendent Designee for their review and intervention.Conducts ATS clearance and prints out all pertinent records for the children being reviewed by the NYS (ACS) Fatality Review Panel and the NYC (City Council) Child Fatality Review Committee.Trains ACS staff and Foster Care Agency staff on the DOE application Automate the Schools (ATS), which includes creating and maintaining user manuals. Assists with inventory control, receiving packages and distribution of supplies and other materials.Liaises with ACS’s Education Unit and Safety First regarding open investigations.Serves as point of contact for all schools/borough offices/ACS requests for ACS/DOE Monthly Case Reviews.Collects and reviews all requests for ACS/DOE Monthly Collaborative Meetings.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; orHigh school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; orEducation and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in “1” above.

Strong project and event management skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong attention to detail and aptitude for working with technology, databases, and internet applications.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.Strong attention to detail; extremely well-organized.Ability to multitask, take initiative, comfortably switch gears, and prioritize workload.Strong customer service orientation.Ability to learn quickly and continuously, be responsive to feedback, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment.Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: $79,200 - $85,560
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
