📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position Summary: Supervises and/or performs clerical duties associated with the processing of Workers’ Compensation claims for the Agency. Performs related work.
Reports to: Director of Workers’ Compensation Unit
Direct Reports: Clerical Associates and Office Temps
Key Relationships: New York City Law Department, School Secretaries and Personnel Directors.
Responsibilities
Receive written request for employee Worker’s Compensation history research and initiate searches for employee histories.Examine and file claims for NYCDOE Law Department.Provide instructions to regional offices and payroll secretaries in filing Workers Comp forms.Maintain computerized record of clients' claims.Obtain and examine source materials, including C-2, C-11, C8 WCD-23, DP2002, and CIR WCD-201 in order to adequately research employee Worker’s Compensation history.Restore time to workers compensation claimants.Perform and assist other functions at request of Director.Serve as supervisor in absence of Director.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of satisfactory
clerical experience.
Preferred
Microsoft Office, Power Point and Access. Ability to type 40 wpm.
Salary: $39,765 - $49,870
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
