Sea View Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and Home is a 304-bed long term care facility located in Staten Island's lush Greenbelt. Serving the metropolitan area, it is easily accessible from all points by car and bus. Like many HHC facilities, Sea View has a long history. It opened its doors in 1913 as a sanitarium treating individuals suffering from the most feared disease of the time, tuberculosis. Today, the hospital is well-known for its long-term care brain injury unit, the first in New York State. Patients undergo intensive rehabilitation with the goals of restoring motor and cognitive functions and maximizing quality of life.

Job Description
UndergeneralsupervisionoftheAssociateDirectorofNursing,assistswiththeplanning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating of nursing service and education programs of the hospital, diagnostic and treatment center, or a major unit within the Department of Nursing.Performs related work.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in developing policies, objectives and standards of nursing service and education. Assistsinthepreparationofpersonnel,supplyandequipment budgets. Assistsinthedevelopmentofadministrativeproceduresandprogramsofpatient care. May have responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the nursing service in a major clinical division, or a home health agency in a hospital, participating in selection, placement and follow-up of patients transferred to homes. Assistswiththeplanning,organizationandconductofanursingeducation program. May assume responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating nursing service on the evening and night tours. DirectsactivitiesofSupervisorof Nurses. Prepares and makes periodic and daily reports on administrative matters relating to staff and patient management. Participates in the direction and implementation of a quality assurance program for nursing. Attendsandchairsregularstaffmeetingswithnursing personnel. Assesses nursing services by making rounds, conducting chart review and evaluating patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3), below. Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty or equivalent field and five years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which threeyears shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or a BaccalaureateDegree in Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
