Duties & Responsibilities

The Coordinating Manager Lv. B is responsible for securing financial clearance when patients are scheduled for Outpatient Scheduled procedures insured and uninsured. These procedures include, Ambulatory Surgery, Bariatric, and a Self-pay unit. The OP Scheduled self-pay team covers Ambulatory Surgery, Radiology, Infusions. The Coordinating Manager is responsible for supervising the team and the following task:
Supervises HCIs, Senior HCIs, and Clerical Associates. Reviewing and monitoring of the seven Outpatient Scheduled Services work-queues. Utilizes Ambulatory Surgery Financial Clearance reports to ensure upcoming procedures are financially cleared. Monitors Senior Hospital Care Investigators review of financial clearance for upcoming procedures. Reviews and assigns Pre-registration logs Clerical Associate level IV to complete. Reviews completed pre-registration log for accuracy of insurance verification, demographic and contact information before submitting to clinical service. Assigns patient appointments for procedures to Clerical Associate that new or are rescheduled. Reviewing and analyzing Ambulatory surgery metrics and denials. Assigns administrative task to Clerical Associates, like collection of monthly reports, monitors supply inventories, scheduling required trainings Communicates all clinical issues pertaining to the request for surgery to the Surgical Coordinator representing the scheduled service. Inform requesting service of any denials/ missing clinical information requested by insurance company and any issues that arise that will delay the processing of the assigned case. Facilitate huddles and meetings to reinforce and disseminate new or revised policies and procedures to HCIs. In absence of Sr. HCI, assign scheduled cases to HCIs. Escalate any barriers or obstacles that prevent abilities to complete duties. Update standard work/ job function for the Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Self-pay and Bariatric team unit. Ensure all evaluations are completed and submitted timely.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in “1” above; and Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in “2” above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in “2” above; or A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
