Our client located in the South Suburbs of Minneapolis is looking to add an Engineering Manager to the team. (High visibility position) The current Engineering Manager will be retiring later in the year (2024) This is such a great opportunity! The Twin Cities has so much to offer in your off time as well. Such a beautiful part of the country. The company does offer a relocation package as well.

The client is looking for an up and coming leader to develop complex audio communications and control products. You will lead and manage an incredible team of Engineers. In addition to working with a dynamic team, you will be working alongside their customers and play a critical role in aligning business and project objectives to drive innovation and success within the organization.

Manage Cross-functional Engineering Project Teams and relationships with other Core Team members within the organizationWork to build credibility of the team by completing projects on-schedule and on-cost targetsProvide, hands-on technical leadership as well as technical contribution to projectsManage continuation / maintenance engineering projects as well as managing component availability / end-of-life issues for componentsManage product certifications and testing for safety and EMCCollaborate with Product Management to develop and document product requirementsEstablish and be accountable for schedules, budgets, milestones for projects as well as project cost and device cost estimates for products and performanceDevelop, monitor, and control strategic and tactical budgets covering staffing, capital assets, and expensesBuilding cross functional relationships to gain trust and efficiency in the organizationCoaching and developing staff members including both formal and informal trainingParticipate in the development of medium to long term product and technology roadmaps

Qualifications

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, plus a minimum of 8 years of experience or equivalent blend of education and experience in product design and developmentMS in Management of Technology or an equivalent Technology-MBA degree preferredBroad technological expertise - comprehension and awareness of the latest technologies and the ability to maximize the impact of technology in appropriate discipline areasPreferred experience in complex high-speed digital and audio productsSome knowledge of wireless product desire is beneficialDemonstrated excellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent mathematical and analytical skills and working knowledge of signal processingDemonstrated ability to manage cross functional engineering projectsDemonstrated experience in the development of complex products which include electrical, mechanical, firmwareExperience with Phase-Gate control of projectsAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%Must be a US Citizen due to working with the Federal Government and Security.

Core Skills

Knowledge of quality systems concepts and tools and their applications (experience with DFMA, DFT, DOE, and Six Sigma methodologies is helpful)Expertise with system issues relating to product design; EMI, ESD mitigation, grounding techniques, stray capacitance, distortion, and noise mitigationExpertise in designing products for international safety and EMC requirementsMust possess good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in and lead a cross functional teamAbility to present complex concepts in a clear non-technical manner, making the complex, simpleStrong analytical and negotiating skillsMust be self-motivated, high energy and have a desire for team buildingNormal office environment with the ability to sit for extended periods.

Annual Salary Rate: $140K to $170K (DOE) Plus annual bonus potential of 15%
