Tax Attorney

Our client, an Am Law 200 firm, seeks a senior associate or counsel level attorney to join their Tax + Exempt Organizations group in New York, Boston, Hartford, Stamford, Washington DC, Philadelphia, or Wilmington. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years' experience with the following:

Counseling a variety of exempt organizations, both private foundations and public charities, with respect to structure and formation, charitable gift planning, transactional matters, and unrelated business taxable income strategy and planning.Tax structuring and the formation of business entities, registration with tax and other regulatory agencies, and the drafting and revising of operating agreements and other governance documents.Serving as corporate counsel to nonprofit organization clients and representing exempt organization clients in matters before the Office of the Attorney General, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Revenue Services, the Probate Courts, and other authorities.Advising on structure and tax-related issues associated with venture philanthropy collaborations, donor-advised funds, private foundations, and corporations.

Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and analytical skills, and large-firm or equivalent experience are required. Attorneys must be admitted in the state of their primary office location.
