Network Engineer / Network Operations Engineer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Network Operations Engineer will primarily focus on the day-to-day management and support of the company's network infrastructure. Reporting to the Network and Infrastructure Lead, this role will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network systems that support the global organization. This position will emphasize operational aspects, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other associated equipment primarily using Cisco technology.Monitor network performance, ensuring system availability and reliability, and respond promptly to network outages and other issues.Provide hands-on support for all network-related issues, acting as the escalation point of contact for internal teams and external partners.Collaborate with IT team members to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.Assist in network security measures, including managing firewalls, and regular security audits to protect data and infrastructure.Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, solutions, and processes.Communicate effectively with the IT team and broader organization, providing regular updates on network health, incidents, and maintenance.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:Education & Experience
Solid experience in network engineering and support, with a strong emphasis on practical experience with Cisco routers and switches, VPN, and managing firewalls.Cisco Certification strongly desired (CCNP, CCNA)Strong operational knowledge of network components (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and experience in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure.Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, as well as security practices and technologies.Familiarity with cloud-based networking and enterprise solutions is desirable.
