BWC is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.

What You'll Do

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of medical/vocational rehabilitation treatment, coverage & reimbursement techniques to develop programmatic policies and serve as subject matter expert.Assists in the development of the vocational rehabilitation provider fee schedule by conducting in-depth research and provides recommendations for revisions to fee schedule.Provides case facilitation & support to stakeholders (e.g., Field Operations staff, Managed Care Organizations, medical & vocational rehabilitation providers, injured workers, employers, attorneys). Evaluates & serves as decision-maker for issues involving eligibility for vocational rehabilitation, living maintenance wage loss, living maintenance, medical hold &/or injured worker travel for vocational rehabilitation purposes.Actively participates in formulating and implementing transitional work grant and bonus program procedures to ensure consistency & equitable application of guidelines to all program applicants. Reviews and evaluations transitional work grant plans based on program criteria.Audits the transitional work bonus reports for accuracy. Participates in the education of the transitional work programs to all stakeholders.

To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate

Required Experience and/or Education

Certified medical coder in current procedural terminology (CPT) hospital coding, or current icd coding system; 12 mos. exp in writing medical policies & procedures for medical provider or insurance company; 12 mos. practical exp in health care field.

Or completion of undergraduate program core coursework in pre-medicine, allied medical field, nursing or related field of study; 12 mos. practical exp. in health care field; 12 mos. exp. in writing medical policies & procedures for medical provider or insurance company. -Or, completion of graduate core program in health care administration; 12 mos. exp. in medical policy development for medical provider or insurance company.Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
