Job Overview

The Chief of Staff (CoS) will provide strategic and tactical support to the CEO and the entire Executive Leadership Team (ELT) at Ohmium. Reporting to the CEO, the CoS manages and facilitates the weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences of the business, while also leading other cross-functional projects. The CoS partners closely with the ELT and employees across the company to ensure business processes are carried out in a timely fashion with quality output. The CoS will create leverage for the CEO and amplify the impact of the entire ELT through the continuous improvement of business processes and a keen focus on follow through and execution.

Duties And Responsibilities

Overall objective: Following Ohmium values and leadership principles, create leverage for the CEO and ELT to create, ramp and utilize the suite of Ohmium business processes. Identify gaps in business process and build structures which alleviate identified issues.

Oversee the weekly cadence of meetings that support the CEO’s agenda and company priorities. Prepare & consolidate materials for Ohmium’s Monthly Operations Review. Prepare & consolidate materials for Ohmium’s quarterly Board meeting presentations. Support teams with presentation templates and formats as necessary to facilitate effective decision making and to ensure quality content reaches the CEO. Facilitate the process of setting and tracking annual and quarterly goals and objectives for the company. Manage the creation, roll-out, and maintenance of business processes needed for company growth. Lead special projects as an individual contributor or cross-functional team leader as needed. Partner with Executive Assistants to prioritize conflicting demands on the CEO and ELT’s time. Escalate opportunities and risks to the CEO and anticipate business needs by connecting the dots between departments. Serve as a connector, encouraging collaboration and communication among the ELT. Evaluate risk factors when making critical business decisions. Complete special projects and initiatives with skillful oversight and support.

LOCATION, TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role will be based in our Newark, California headquarters with a hybrid structure about three days per week in the office and up to two days' work-from-home. While 100% in-office work is not required, the leverage for a Chief of Staff is the relationship with the team - and face-to-face discussions are important. Ability to travel domestically and internationally at least twenty percent (20%) of the time with a particular focus on India and the EU.

FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial), chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred, MBA degree a plus. A combination of education, training, and experience including organizational skills, critical thinking, problem solving, and relationship-building that unifies people across the organization.

Work Experience

Five (5) to Ten (10) years’ experience in project or program management experience in renewable energy, oil & gas, industrial equipment or hardware design preferred. Prior Chief of Staff experience not required.

Direct Reports: Certain administrative staff may report to the Chief of Staff.
