Reservoir Engineer (Onshore)

Our Client, a leading global oil exploration & production company, is looking for a Reservoir Engineer - Onshore, who will assume responsibility for reservoir management of unconventional assets, encompassing development, reserves, surveillance, and optimization.

This role will primarily focus on Eagle Ford Shale assets and collaborate closely with stakeholders to formulate, endorse, facilitate, and execute initiatives aimed at understanding resource potential and enhancing future development through teamwork and rigorous technical analyses.

The Reservoir Engineer - Onshore will operate from our Houston Corporate office and may work remotely for two (2) days a week.

Responsibilities

Apply DCA and RTA/PTA techniques for evaluating and forecasting well performance.Execute necessary surveillance, technical assessments, data collection, execution planning, economic analysis, AFEs, PSA proposals, and offset competitor analysis to optimize assets.Collaborate with the asset team to organize subsurface data sets, including seismic, petrophysical and reservoir engineering data, geo-mechanical data, completions, and production data, to facilitate utilization by stakeholders in interpretation, evaluation, and predictive applications.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand the impact of well spacing/stacking/landing pattern optimization on depletion effects, reserves bookings, and development decisions.Incorporate field development and business plan assumptions into reserves updates.Generate forecasts for PDP locations, undeveloped location bookings, and associated documentation for annual reserves processes.Aggregate reserves bookings and identify key drivers for volume changes.Ensure QA/QC of economic and technical assumptions for asset reserves bookings. Collaborate with reserves analysts to efficiently and accurately implement assumptions into reserves databases.Support documentation requirements for investment opportunity management and financial approvals.Champion or support technical projects/studies enhancing ongoing asset development and production optimization on an as-needed basis.Conduct technical reviews and asset valuations for both operated positions and business development opportunities to maximize economic value.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Minimum 5 years of petroleum engineering experience and 3 years of unconventional reservoir engineering.Proficiency in data science with SQL, Python, R, Spotfire, PowerBI, and/or similar tools.Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and GCP.Proficiency in economic and planning analysis software such as Aries, ValNav, or Enersight.Experience with asset valuations, acquisitions, trades, or divestitures.Experience with technical studies, simulations, or trials in well spacing and lateral length type curve adjustments, parent/child well production impacts, well completions optimization, and flowback optimization and analysis.Demonstrated communication, teamwork, and project management skills.Successful track record in the fast-paced environment of an active operated asset.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Eagle Ford Shale, Duvernay, and/or Montney.Experience with ValNav, Aries, Combocurve, and/or Enersight.Experience with Harmony Reservoir and/or Whitson .
