Controller - Private Credit

A well known Chicago based Private Equity Manager is launching new debt and credit funds. Due to the expansion and growth, they have partnered with us to hire a Fund Controller to join their team and report directly to the CAO and CFO. Compensation and benefits are extremely competitive.Responsibilities:Lead and shape fund accounting processes within new fund launch. Manage day-to-day financial operations of investment funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.Act as a key liaison with third-party administrators and investors, addressing inquiries and ensuring transparent communication.Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, coordinating with auditors as necessary.Lead a team of individuals, providing mentorship and guidance in their roles.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function, staying informed on industry developments and regulatory changes.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in fund accounting or financial reporting within the private debt/credit industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.For more information. please reach out to sophie.epstein@oliverjames.com directly.
