JOB SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Medical Director and Department Manager, the Respiratory Therapist I, II, and III (collectively referred to as RCP moving forward) is responsible for providing Respiratory Care services in accordance with specific physician orders, as well as department policies and procedures. Pursuant to provider orders, the RCP administers respiratory care and life support, performs diagnostic testing, and monitors and assesses patients as a member of the healthcare team to help the patient return to a steady, stable cardiopulmonary state. When working in the outpatient pulmonary environment, the RCP primarily evaluates the patient’s lung function by performing diagnostic testing, monitoring and assessing clinic patients, delivering various modalities of respiratory care, or providing health or disease education.
