Our client is seeking a dynamic Logistics and Procurement Manager.
This is an on-site position in Carlsbad, CA.
The Procurement & Logistics Manager responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels so orders can be filled and are delivered on-time and cost-effectively. This individual ensures customers are satisfied, and overall goals for growing the brand and driving revenues are achieved.
Essential Functions – Procurement & Logistics Manager Duties
The Procurement & Logistics Manager role requires a high-energy, versatile, and detail-oriented individual who is able to balance multiple tasks. A willingness to be hands-on is valued and appreciated, along with the ability to move from high-level strategic conversations to performing tactical work. Top-notch analytical skills, advanced Excel, and a strong attention to detail are essential.
Job Responsibilities Prepare production schedules for the manufacture of packaging and finished goods.Provide updates on order status to customers and sales team using established metrics.Ensure optimal customer service by verifying pricing information .Ensure orders are entered accurately in system, check inventory levels, and maintain optimal inventory levels.Create and present daily, weekly and monthly reports using established metrics for on-time delivery.Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure production activities/plans are met in a timely manner.Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes and other requirements.Provide feedback to team to improve service and related processes.Run reports and perform ad-hoc data analysis using ERP systems. Use Excel, Access, etc. to perform ad-hoc analysis and make data-based decisions and recommendations. Generate weekly/monthly reports indicating orders and metrics that quantify inventory control, customer service, and supply chain activities:Determine how to optimize inventory levels and implement process improvement.Establish collaborative working relationships with sales team, brokers and other members of the logistics team to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on time.Manage inbound and outbound freight and logistics including third parties.Track received invoices and outstanding expenses to assist with month-end accruals.
RequirementsBA/BS in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting or related degree.Five or more years’ in Supply Chain related roles, with progressively increased responsibility. APICs certification strongly preferred.Excellent strategic thinking capabilities and the ability to improve the accuracy and sophistication of the Company’s Procurement & Logistics processes, procedures and reporting.Advanced Excel skills (PIVOT, Macros, and Lookup functions). Uses advanced Excel functions and formulas to analyze data to communicate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.Highly proficient computer skills are required, including the ability to compose professional and concise analysis, reporting and recommendations. Prior experience with enterprise software systems is required. Quickly assimilate and verify information; recognize how multiple SKUs, UPCs and item numbers relate to each other.Prior experience working in similar roles that require leadership, autonomy, strong technical and analytical abilities, and sound professional judgment. Results-oriented; ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet timelines with accurate information. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, organized and follows through.Ability to work within a rapidly changing and sometimes stressful environment with strict deadlines.Ability to handle highly confidential material and issues with discretion. Demonstrated track record developing strong professional relationships based on respect, trust and consideration.Effective and pleasant communication style (written and verbal).Prior experience working in smaller, entrepreneurial business environments.Self-motivated, willing to be “hands-on” when needed.
