Accounting Commodities Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our back-office operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in settlements accounting and derivative accounting, with a strong understanding of how mark-to-market (MtM) processes translate to financial statements.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee settlements accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.Manage derivative accounting activities, including booking MtM transactions and understanding their impact on financial reporting.Supervise a remote team of 6 accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.Act as a polished and client-facing representative of the accounting team, fostering collaborative relationships both internally and externally.Utilize strong leadership and coaching skills to develop team members and foster a positive work environment.Familiarity with Endur software is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on settlements and derivatives.Strong knowledge of natural gas accounting; experience with power accounting is preferred.Proven management experience, including remote team leadership and the ability to oversee multiple locations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.Familiarity with Endur software is a plus.
