📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for planning, directing, and administering risk management, analysis, and control programs within the organization. This role involves coordinating with various business units, including energy marketers and traders, to develop and implement effective risk management strategies. Additionally, the Director collaborates on formulating risk management policies to uphold corporate standards.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to managers and staff, guiding them in achieving departmental objectives.Partner with peers across the organization to align efforts and achieve business objectives.Make decisions related to resource allocation, project approach, and tactical operations.Oversee daily mark-to-market analysis and provide analysis of commodity margin results compared to forecast.Spearhead improvements to risk management systems and tools to ensure adherence to corporate risk policies and procedures.Directly accountable for the performance and development of the team, conducting performance reviews, making promotional decisions, and managing pay actions for support and professional levels.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.Previous experience in leadership or senior-level roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of energy markets and risk identification in energy transactions.Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the field of specialization.
