The Role

Bring your customer service skills to our Commerce and Compliance Division as a service center representative. In this role, you will answer questions in a call center environment from commercial truck drivers and the general public. You will determine and collect appropriate fees, explain complex rules, laws, policies and procedures, review registration information, enter data and assist with issuing various permits. A Day In The Life

Explain, summarize and apply laws, rules, policies, procedures and regulations and programs to ensure customers understand compliance requirements.Stay informed about legislative, policy and procedure changes.Review carrier information to verify registration requirements have been fulfilled.Calculate and collect appropriate fees for each transaction.Accurately enter data for motor carrier applications and forms.Analyze and reconcile documents to revenue and balances for the business day.Answer motor carrier questions related to weight-mile tax and account issues or concerns via phone and email.Assist in establishing temporary permits and accounts and explain the use of forms for various transactions.Work is performed in a high-volume call center environment.Hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (PT), Monday – Friday. Minimum Qualifications

Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying laws, rules, regulations/procedures.

AND

Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.

Completion of an associate's degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
