OVERVIEWAt Orion Groups, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer with a passion for information technology.

The Senior Software Developer is a key leadership role that facilitates product delivery initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Within an agile environment, you will drive decisions, escalate key decisions needed and issue resolutions. Fostering alignment across multiple teams, you will also focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop high quality applications using C# and .NET Core, in an Agile environment

Leads both design and code reviews with business stakeholders, project managers, and/or other developers

Provide mentorship and training of other developers

Writes modular, well-tested, and maintainable code through an understanding (and pragmatic application) of the SOLID principles

Utilize Docker, Docker Swarm, and / or MicroK8's for containerization and orchestration of applications

Collaborate with other teams (i.e. Product, Project, UI/UX, etc.) to ensure delivered code meets specifications based on functional/technical specifications

Support identification of gaps and inefficiencies across teams, including facilitating collaborative solutioning to address blockers

Break down complex requirements into independent coding tasks and strategies

Create automated unit and integration tests to fully test and regress software, using xUnit

Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation (SOPs) for system software applications

Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support

Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems and capabilities

EXPERIENCE8+ years of development experience with C# and .NET Core, in an Agile environment

Experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud, AWS, Oracle, and / or Azure

Demonstrates an understanding and considers the technical impact of business requirements and suggests alternatives to improve the system as a whole

Leadership skills and experience leading effective discussions with cross functional teams while driving progress and accountability

Strong understanding of databases, networking, and deployment concepts

Experience with unit and integration tests

Strong understanding of professional software engineering best practices for the full SDLC including coding standards, code reviews, source control (Git or SVN), build processes, deployment tools such as CI/CD, testing, and operations

Experience with TDD and BDD

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred
