Role Overview

Otis Elevator Company is searching for a highly motivated Manager, Maintenance Field Operations to lead service operations activities in the branch. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day management of field staff, employee selection, field training and safety. This individual will also lead operations efforts and priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction.

On a typical day you will

Lead the performance of field operations for all service/maintenance projectsMaintain project schedules and ensure deadlines are metDevelop action plans to address deficiencies regarding safety, callback rates, and technical supportGenerate field leads and assist service sales representatives in selling upgrades and repairsRecommend and detail changes in maintenance service documentation, methods, process, design, and deliverySet budgets for material and labor within Otis guidelines and complete the required maintenance and repair within those budgetsConduct field education training ensuring that we create and maintain a safe working environmentPerform field safety audits, jobsite inspections, and develop site safety/logistics plansCoordinate all material deliveries and issuing purchase ordersForecast and schedule labor resources, maintaining customer quality assurance, and improving efficienciesDevelop and maintain professional and productive relationships with co-workers, field employees, clients, and others in contact with the job

Job Responsibilities

Ensuring field employee safetyMeeting with customers to ensure obligations and expectations are achievedDirecting the performance of field maintenance and contractual service operationsConducting field education training with field workforceMaintaining customer quality assurance; emphasis on safety, managing the expenditure of labor and materialsImproving efficiencies, managing route schedules and callback ratesProviding technical supportAuthorizing repair orders and tracking completionManaging labor and material investments within budgetLeading change to better efficiency and communication

Education

2-year degree, plus 5 years' experience, or4-year degree, plus 3 years' experience, orHigh school diploma or equivalent, with a proven technical elevator background (i.e., apprentice, mechanic, adjustor, etc.).

Experience / Qualifications

Experience with leading a team of technicians is preferred.Elevator industry is desired, but not required.Candidates must have excellent communication skills and leadership skills and be able to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment.Self-motivated individuals who have the ability to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilities are a must.Candidates must have strong computer and technology skills, business acumen and a passion for customer service.
