This position is based in Merrillville, IN, but our company operates nationally, particularly in large regional malls.

Assisting the General Manager, you will aid in the day-to-day operations of Southlake Mall and all owner, tenant, and staff communications. You will also oversee all areas, including but not limited to Accounting, Leasing, Marketing, Operations, and Tenant Relations.

To succeed, you should have:Bachelor’s degree or related field and/or 3-5 years in retail property management. Understanding of financial aspects of property performanceExcellent skills in navigating the internet, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to quickly learn and use new systems.

Your responsibilities as the Assistant General Manager for Southlake Mall will include:

Accounting/ FinancialDevelop and implement annual budget, including capital expendituresPrepare financial reports and monthly variance reportingWork with on-site and corporate accounting team Ensure adherence to budgetDrive NOI

LeasingWork with leasing teams to formulate a merchandise and lease plan for the centerDrive specialty leasing efforts through new business and tenant retentionMaximize occupancy

Drive Marketing EffortsAdvertising contracts Social media campaigns On-site events Community outreachWeekly activities and entertainment Magazine production/ photo shoots Newsletters

OperationsMaintain safety, cleanliness, and integrity of all areas of the centerOversee the coordination and supervision of all tenant and landlord construction projectsMonitor the performance of in-house and contracted services and take necessary action to ensure in-house performance and contracted services (security, landscaping, janitorial, etc.) perform up to our standards.Works with the Operations Manager on bidding out projects and working on energy savings projects.

Tenant RelationsExhibit best communication and support to merchants to ensure strong tenant retentionParticipate in merchant meetings
