NetSuite Accountant

NetSuite AccountantPermanent/Full Time

Paizo is seeking an accountant to drive ecommerce financial operations for an international business composed of direct-to-consumer, direct-to-retail, and distribution partners worldwide. The ideal candidate will have experience using NetSuite (or similar non-Quickbooks ERP), a strong grasp of tax and customs requirements, and proficiency at using an ERP’s data tools to get answers to financial questions.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform accounting for a Netsuite-based ecommerce platform.Evaluate old procedures and define new procedures to conform to Netsuite best practices.Maintain sales tax processes for domestic and international sales, including research and new process development.Maintain business reporting compliance procedures, including research and new process development.Interpret and reply to data analysis requests, both ad hoc and those requiring entirely new infrastructure.Assist in month-end financial close.Assist Controller with the preparation of the annual budget, including data collection, analysis, and transformation. Duties will eventually subsume all budget maintenance and will be Netsuite integrated.Identify and flag financial data points and trends for analysis and discussion.Special projects and process improvement on an ad hoc basis.Preparation of state/local/federal tax forms.Various other tasks as required.

Essential Job SkillsUnderstanding of accounting standard procedures, US GAAP, and internal controls.Ability to interact on a significant level with the technical team to drive resolution to accounting and reporting issues.Advanced understanding of ecommerce proceduresContext experience and ability to research tax questions from company operation and sales. Relevant areas: US State sales & business taxes, Australian and European VAT taxes, US Local business taxes.Advanced understanding of Netsuite and eCommerce software; NetCommerce not needed.Advanced proficiency in Excel; proficiency in Word and Outlook.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (verbal and written) with management, other departments, customers, and business partners.Attention to detail and awareness of follow-through needs.Integrity, honesty, high ethical standards, and a willingness to solve problems.

LocationThe position is currently 100% remote. Candidates must be a resident of the state of Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon, or Washington State.

Education and/or ExpertiseBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance5+ years of recent experience in an accounting role1+ years of experience in accounting with a company that maintains a national scale ecommerce storefront1+ years of experience as an accountant with Netsuite; certification a plus.Sought for additional experience: Avalara, Quickbooks, remote work, product catalogs with large numbers of SKUs, SQLFamiliarity with Paizo products and brands, especially Pathfinder and Starfinder.
