Monitor Technician

The Monitor Technician is responsible for telemetry monitoring including rhythm strip interpretation, documentation and functioning of the monitoring equipment in accordance with the standards and procedures of the hospital. This is a non-exempt position.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assigning and applying telemetry monitor to the patient Interprets rhythm Measures PR, QRS, ST Intervals Posts rhythm strips in medical record Reports any dysrhythmias to the assigned nurse or charge nurse Reports equipment problems to Biomed and the Nurse Manager Organizes and maintains all cardiac monitoring equipment
Qualifications
Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of EKG course/rhythm interpretation test is required before or on first day of employment.
Experience: None required. Minimum of one year preferred.
