Overview
This position plans, directs, and coordinates work of the local survey department.
Responsibilities
Maintains client relations, acquires new clients and projects Provides guidance/direction to Survey PM’s, Project Surveyors and Survey Technicians Ensures compliance with TBPELS rules and regulations Prepares proposals Manages project budgets and client invoicing Responsible for quality control of drawings and legal descriptions prepared by others Signs and seals completed drawings, legal descriptions, and surveyor’s reports Adheres to corporate QA/QC guidelines and principles Manages, trains, and mentors other members of the Survey Department
Qualifications
Registered in the state of Texas as a Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) 15 years of land surveying experience 5 years of previous supervisory experience Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently in a fast-paced production environment Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships Ability to handle complex issues/problems Ability to manage performance of Survey team members and handle personnel issues as appropriate or needed. Ability to work in and lead a team Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written. Must be dependable and reliable
