Intern Quality Engineering

Location: Parker Meggitt Engineered Materials Group-CFC-San Diego (Mira Mesa)

The Quality Engineering Intern will be responsible for supporting, improving and sustaining inspection processes for manufacturing operations consistent with team objectives. He or she will interact with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions. Paid internship, Full-Time, Summer 2024, Start and end dates flexible.

Essential Job Functions

Under the direction of the Director of Quality or delegated program Quality Engineer, utilizes judgment in performance of duties in conjunction with company policies, procedures, and processes.Performs process capabilities studies for various manufacturing processes. - Sets up or expands methods to track/trend improvements.Works on assigned projects related to inspection improvements. - Helps define/design small upgrades or identify source for improved inspection tools/media.Works with High Performance Teams and various engineers on miscellaneous continuous improvement projects.Assists with various related quality functions, e.g., defect quantification, costs reduction, inspection program and optimization and quality control.

Qualifications

Education

Actively enrolled in a 4-year Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.2-3 years of college engineering courses required.

Experience

Hands on ability to build/ assemble and use hand inspection toolsEntry level mechanical aptitude (preferred)Programming experience in C++, Python, or other languages (preferred)

Skills

Solidworks, NX, or other CAD (preferred)MS Office suiteHighly organizedStrong communication skillsAble to work alone or within a teamSelf-motivated to complete tasks timely and act with a sense of urgency as required

Physical Demands

Standing, sitting, lifting less than 30 lbs throughout the work day

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $20.10 hourly to $30.10 hourly.
