Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Security Analyst to join our team! In this role you will get to perform continuous monitoring, intrusion detection and preliminary computer security investigations to catch and stop threats.

What You'll Be Doing

Perform Incident triage, to include determining initial scope, urgency, and impactInvestigate security alerts to determine if the alert is a false positive, a security Event, and/or a security IncidentOpen cases and transfer to the RESPOND team per the documented workflow, while maintaining appropriate records of security monitoring and detection activitiesMonitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to identify anomalous trafficCreate and modify SIEM queries, dashboards, and reportsPerform Event/Incident triage, classification, and prioritizationRecognize potential, successful and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromisesExamine evasion mechanisms (e.g. obfuscated code) through open-source and vendor provided toolsCommunicate intrusions and potential compromises to leadership for their situational awarenessPrepare briefings and reports including analysis and resultsCreate and edit Work Instructions, Plans, Policies, Playbooks, and other SOC documentationConsolidate and conduct comprehensive analysis of threat data obtained from classified, proprietary and open source resources to provide indication and warnings of impending attacksTeach and mentor security apprentices in DETECT skillsSpecial Projects – Other duties as assigned by SupervisorPerforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring

A Bachelor's Degree in computer security, computer science, or another closely related IT disciplineAt least 5 years' experience in intrusion analysis or cyber security investigations in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) environmentFamiliarity with CJCSM 6510.01B desiredUS person and clearable

Salary Range

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
