Residential Building Porter

Summary/Objective: The Porter is responsible for assisting the Maintenance team in the day-to-day duties involved with maintaining the cleanliness of our property.
Classification: Non -exempt (eligible for overtime)
Essential function/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the following
Daily interior cleanliness of buildings, including general cleaning of common areas task included but not limited to cleaning up spills, cleaning windows and window coverings, vacuuming, sweeping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors. Daily trash handling and removal including emptying of the building’s compactors, breaking down and tying up cardboard boxes, and bringing trash and recyclables curbside for removal by department of sanitation. Prepare vacant units for occupancy, remove all items left behind and leave unit in broom swept condition. Required to perform exterior building and premises cleaning and basic maintenance, including exterior walls parking lots and structures, walk ways and paths, gardens and lawns, outdoor furnishings, pools/curbs/gutters, exterior hallways and stairwells, etc. Light maintenance (replace light bulbs, air filters, blinds, shades and other items as directed). Placing down mats/runners in inclement weather, assisting in weather related cleaning conditions (snow removal or storm preparations. Report areas for unsafe conditions, unlocked doors in restricted areas, and potential security breaches on the grounds and report to manager/supervisor
