General Superintendent

Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: Responsible to provide leadership and serve as liaison between ownership and company personnel. Promote work environment where subcontractors and supplies seamlessly work together and can efficiently perform their work. Oversees company field operations to ensure subcontracted trade work is in compliance with contract documents and project schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:· Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors and vendors to complete each project on time.· Manage overall site safety program. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies.· Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project.· Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute their job duties effectively and efficiently.· Works in conjunction with project manager in preparing the project management plan.

• Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations.· Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site.· Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary.· Set an example in keeping the job site organized and clean.· Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.

Education, Experience and Licensing / Certifications:· Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant discipline.· Has good understanding and knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work.· Has good written and verbal communication skills: expresses ideas clearly and effectively.· Has good administrative skills: monitors the progress and coordination of work activities; keeps other members of the organization informed of progress and problems.· Has good management skills: establishes techniques to effectively and proactively monitor and supervise the work of subordinates and to follow up on the results of delegated assignments.· Maintains integrity: maintains the normal standards of ethics, conduct, and organizational policies in job-related activities.· Is a team player: works well with other people; takes time to help co-workers, customers, subcontractors and others achieve their goals and assignments.· Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, subcontractors, and clients.· Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, maps, surveys, mechanical and electrical sheets, project schedules, and other construction documents.· Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.· Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors.· Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems.
