Here's how a Senior Project Manager for our Hawaii office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and maintains the project safety program for a safe work environment. Creates and influences safety culture as a mentor and model.Liaises with clients to ensure that projects are constructed as per quality and safety standards, and contract.Leads to secure new work by participating in estimates, working with trade contractors, and/or participating in proposals and presentations.Oversees the development and implementation of quality management plan and quality culture with stakeholder buy-in.Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and/or schedule benefit to the client while maintaining value-added outcomes as part of our solution provider service where warranted.Develops or oversees the Project Execution Plan (PEP) with the superintendent.Oversees and monitors project performance status reports for schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment, cost forecast, and quality control, and QUEST programs.Monitors production and reviews work of assigned resources to ensure that project time, cost, and quality objectives are met.Identifies scope gaps, technical risk, and areas requiring interdisciplinary coordination from the design documents.Manages construction quality compliance with design documentation.Chairs project meetings and ensures minutes are properly prepared/reviewed and promptly issued.Oversees, reviews, or performs weekly or monthly detailed project cost review: Labor Cost Reports (LCR), Project Cost and Forecast (PCF) reports.Identifies risk areas and develops mitigation plans.Manages risk of design quality, design schedule, and design compliance to contract obligations.Oversees and verifies progress preparation payments to clients and trade contractors, and monitors progress.Understands and actively manages client expectations, client project-specific success criteria (CPSSC), contract, and relationships.Manages project team, client representative, consultant, and trade contractor relationships.Oversees timely reviews of subcontractors’ submittals for compliance with scope, design documentation, and coordination with other disciplines.Attends the design management meetings, led by the prime consultant, communicating PCL’s needs and requirements, and escalates issues for resolution.Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, and mentors project team, including direct and indirect reports to this position and project coordinators and managers on the same or multiple sites.Involved in selecting, onboarding, and placing staff to assigned projects.Manages complex project organizational structure.Oversees project reporting procedure setup (e.g., labor, material, cost reports, site office procedures, and document control).Analyzes schedules and implements change.Initiates, oversees, negotiates, and issues subcontracts and major purchase orders and monitors their progress and schedule.Manages all change orders, including to negotiate, process, and assess cost and schedule impact.Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related discipline: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types as a leader and mentor preferred.12 months of estimating or related experience preferred.In-depth knowledge and application of health, safety, and environment principles/ procedures/legislation.In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, safety and quality management practices for large, complex, and more diverse projects.Experience with diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.Strong knowledge of and ability to apply project construction laws and building codes and to leverage such knowledge.Understanding of and experience with collective agreements and jurisdiction assignment for multi-trade sites.Thorough understanding of insurance, bonding, and legal requirements.Effective verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to monitor and forecast project resources and staffing for the project.Ability to identify staffing and hourly labor issues.Superior planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize team tasks for prompt execution.Demonstrated experience leading and managing others and many construction project facets, including multiple scope coordination. Experience leading and assessing trade performance.Demonstrated experience leading effective project meetings with customer, consultants, and internal employees; experience presenting at client meetings or for project pursuit.Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.Ability to monitor complex project budgets and schedules, and create and schedule a project.Ability to generate, review, and administer complex subcontracts and purchase orders.

The salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $185,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
