OverviewThe Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining information technologies to increase Infiniband/Ethernet operational efficiencies and secure Ultra Scale Services Networks implemented for clients. Supports a team of engineers to manage client projects and AI/ML clusters. Works to problem resolution by engaging the participation of multiple specialized teams including our clients or vendors. ResponsibilitiesInterfaces with clients, vendors, and other teams on multi-faceted projects involving support of IB, Ethernet and HPC Enterprise Technologies.Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to incidents as escalated from the Managed Services On-Site Break/Fix Teams.Contributes on large projects and tasks to support technical staff with minimal supervision from Team Leader and/or Manager.Independently develops reference materials (network diagrams, installation documentation, etc.) for supported network technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff.Day-to-day network administration including security and patch management, user account management, Internet access, and applications supportProactively manage, maintain, and optimize server, network, and firewall systemsTroubleshooting switches and other infrastructure systems which frequently includes hands on troubleshooting of hardware and opticsAdminister and support the InfiniBand network, which includes Mellanox core and edge switches.Administer and support the Ethernet network, which includes Arista core and edge switches.Actively monitor and proactively address alerts encountered by users and automated monitoring systemsMake timely upgrades and repairs to ensure systems, often at a large scale, to ensure they are operating optimallyAssign and update user security permissions on the networkEnsure data storage networks work optimallyInstall and configure network hardware and software on enterprise scaleImplement and enforce all cyber security policies and proceduresParticipate in an afterhours rotating call schedule QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a field related to computer or information scienceSeven (7) years of experience in network administrationCCIE certification preferred. (CCNP, scripting, and Data Center certifications are a plus.)Advanced networking skill in organizing, installing, and supporting an organization’s large-scale data center network, including edge computing and LinuxAdvanced analytical skill when evaluating networks and systems to make sure that they perform reliably and to anticipate requirements as customers’ needs change.Advanced security knowledgeAbility to describe problems and their solutions to non-IT workersAbility to use analysis and critical thinking in order to assess processes and recommend effective and efficient solutionsExperience working well independently and in a team settingExcellent problem solving and relationship buildingAbility to work on many problems and tasks at the same time quickly and efficientlyAbility to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position LocationThis is an on-site position in Richmond, Virginia. Compensation & BenefitsThe pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Virginia is $99,000 - $135,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
