Requirements for the Accounting Specialist role:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required;1+ years of applicable accounting experience is required;Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals and practices is required;Experience in a nonprofit or government agency is preferred, but not required; Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required;Experience with Blackbaud/Financial Edge NXT or a similar software is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities for an Accounting Specialist:Answering calls from donors and processing their requests in our system, Financial Edge NXT;Paying close attention to accuracy when executing donor requests; Addressing donor requests by processing entries in our Donor Advised Fund;Coordinating with the Accounts Payable Specialist to process payments;Reconciliation of statements and investments Additional job duties as assigned;
