AWS Platform Architect - REMOTE

Job Description

We currently have a career opportunity for an AWS Platform Architect. While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working ET zones.

The AWS Platform Architect is responsible for provisioning, operating, and managing Infrastructure on AWS cloud environments. They work with development, operations, and security teams to deploy, operate, and scale AWS environments. They are also responsible for automating and improving the AWS environment.

Responsibilities

Assists in defining automated monitoring, deployment and repair strategies using a wide variety of Ops tools and monitoring platforms. Builds and maintains tools for deployment, monitoring and operations as well as troubleshoots and resolves issues. Assists with the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and mentors teams to assist with improving their processes. Makes sure build and deployment processes are following known best practices. Assists with the management and performance of the infrastructure and deployment of applications. Evaluates third party software tools and libraries for enterprise needs with risk management. Diagnoses, isolates, and debugs application problems and performs problem resolution. Monitors systems capacity and performance to allow for scaling of high performance as necessary. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

MUST have a minimum of 10+ years of industry experienceThis position requires strong experience with AWS integration with data lake pipelines such as Glue, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RedShift, Crawlers, Athena, workflow, Terraform, GIT, etcStrong experience with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS and Serverless General familiarity with networking, security and automated deploymentsStrong knowledge of high-availability, load-balancing and failover configurations across application, infrastructure, and platform componentsUnderstanding of security design for enterprise software systemsExperience in common language (shell, Python, Java, Java script, etc.). Proven ability to write clear and concise technical documents including design documents, specifications, and technology roadmaps. Capable to stitch together terraform, AWS CLI commands and BASH scripting to run on an EC2. Ability to write and develop Terraform modules for different Infrastructure setup, installation and configuration. Recent experience with AWS CLI including S3, Glue, Athena, RedShift, EC2, ASG, ELB, SFTP, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc. Experience with streaming services like Kafka, Kinesis etc. Integration experience with micro services and strong application architecture experienceProven ability to design, implement and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure environments. Requires strong DevOps experience with Terraform, GIT, AWS CLI, BASH. Experience with a variety of other programming languages such as JSON, YAML, Boto3, etc.

Preferred Skills and Education

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. AWS Certifications

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
