The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for reviewing production schedules, specifications, and orders as well as developing and implementing process improvements. Will act as a link between manufacturing/production and engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES Manufacturing Engineer position supports the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, techniques, processes, and tooling on fabricated parts, cast, and machined components, subassemblies, and final productsmaintain, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure cost effective and safe assembly, testing, quality and inspection of productsresearch, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including, production flow, assembly methods and production equipmentand enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to areas of productionopportunities for improving products or reducing costs by implementing or modifying fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, product design, materials and partsand complete manufacturing documentation (FMEA, control plan, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans)problems and provide guidance to the production teams through the application of technical knowledge, data analytics, research, and acquired expertise. Works with engineering directly on engineering changes and component obsolescence.in design reviews, manufacturing process reviews, supplier quality reviews and audits, first article inspection, failure analysis and other tasks, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS Degree Requiredyears of experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense highly preferred)to obtain a secretsecurity clearance or already have a clearance Citizenship, per customer requirementsto travel at least 5% of timemechanical aptitude as well as knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies and schematics
EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field required
