As a Field Service Engineer with PIC Solution, you are responsible for outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include taking calls, emails and video conferences, conducting routine equipment service, preventive maintenance, installation, customer training and post-sales support. This is a customer facing position, which requires you to maintain a professional and positive demeanor with our excellent customers. You will be expected to travel (overnight) to customer sites throughout North America. Travel by car and by plane will be necessary depending on the customer’s location. Annual travel and training to our Headquarters in France will also be required. Summary of tasksRespond to customer requests for technical assistance (email, phone, video call, or in person)Maintain post-sales services such as Preventive Maintenance contractsDocument all repairs and work with equipment using company softwareSchedule and manage appointments, calls, and meetingsPerform configuration and testing of new equipmentMaintain a small inventory of service parts and tools at your home-based office locationAssist with trade show set up or tear down as requiredTravel to France to learn manufacture and QC techniques of instruments RequirementsTechnical degree preferred from a 2 or 4year programHighly organized, flexible, and capable of balancing multiple customer requests simultaneously Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills, problem solving skills, and ability to understand how equipment worksSolid electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to read electrical schematicsExperienced with chromatography equipment is preferredSafety is paramount; you must always use good judgment and follow company policiesAbility to use software such as Outlook, MS Office, WhatsApp, MSTeam, ZoomPhysically able to install and move equipment (using appropriate pallet jack) weighing up to 2000 lbs.Bend, squat, kneel, reach or climb a step ladder while using small hand tools and installing partsExcellent interpersonal skillsMust have a valid driver’s license and passport - international travel is requiredSuperior English – both written and verbal
