Client
Our client is a sophisticated, institutional sized single-family office based in NYC. The SFO has dedicated investment teams across public, private, and direct investments. They are seeking a Senior Associate for their Public Investment Team.
Opportunity
The Senior Associate will be a key member of a small and collegial investment team. This individual will assist in the management of a sophisticated public investment portfolio. Their investment strategy is long-term, global, and allocated primarily through third-party managers and funds. The team oversees two portfolios, a long only equity portfolio and a hedge fund portfolio.
Location: NYC | Days in office: Minimum 4 days/week | Timing: Immediate
Responsibilities
Analyze financial information of current and prospective investment fundsPerform ongoing review of current managers on a monthly and quarterly basisParticipate in manager interactions, including manager due diligence meetings, conference calls, annual meetings, conferences, and ongoing manager discussionsPerform quantitative analysis of the portfolios, asset classes, markets, and investmentsWork with senior members of the investment team to evaluate new investment opportunitiesConduct due diligence meetings with managers, perform quantitative analysis, execute reference calls, document, aggregate notes, and prepare written investment proposalsPerform industry research and deep dives into investment strategies, peer groups, sectors, geographies, asset classes, or global markets to identify investment opportunitiesMonitor market trends, economic environments, and new investment strategiesProduce and prepare materials for manager meetings, investment committee meetings, and partner presentationsOther ad hoc analysis as required
Qualifications
3-7 years of investment/manager research experience (asset allocation, endowment and foundation, family office, or investment consulting (hedge fund manager research experience a plus))A bachelorβs degree with a track record of exceptional academic performance (math, finance, computer science, data science or engineering degrees a plus)High degree of intellectual curiosity, interest in investing, ability to think critically, and willingness to give and receive feedbackExcellent quantitative and analytical skills, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPointBasic proficiency in VBA programming and ability to learn Power BIProactive mindset and willingness/ability to juggle numerous projects simultaneously while responding to changing prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills; ability to form and clearly articulate ideasAbility to meet deadlines and target-driven goals while maintaining a high degree of quality, accuracy, and attention to detailStrong work ethic, team-orientated, and high degree of integrity
