Pre-Construction Manager

Pinnacle Staffing Groups is an employee administration company providing customized recruiting, staffing, and HR solutions to assist growing businesses. Pinnacle has partnered with a respected commercial construction company in the Kansas City area specializing in healthcare, higher education, k-12 education, community resources, multi-family, religious, and senior living general contract construction. Due to growth, they are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Estimator to assist with the review of project specifications and plans to determine the scope of work.

Role: Supporting the Director of Preconstruction, Analyzing Blueprints, Specifications, Proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates of time, labor, and cost for targeted construction projects. Interact with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal employees in preparation of cost estimates. Generally, under the supervision of a Level 3 Estimator and the Director of Preconstruction. Responsibilities:Assist with the review of project specifications and plans to determine the scope of work.Perform Quantity Takeoffs in order to derive labor and material cost estimates and to enhance project-specific knowledge.Interface with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal employees as required to accurately prepare cost estimates.Attend pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations as required or requested.Participate in cost trend analysis and market cost tracking.Exercise initiative or as directed, perform additional duties as requested. Work Skills: Excellent written and communication skills. Self-motivated and punctual. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills for both internal and external clients. Must be able to identify client expectations and make thorough preparation efforts to master a project estimate. Software: Microsoft Windows OS; Microsoft Word/Excel/Project/Outlook; Blue Beam Software; On Screen Takeoff; Agtek Earthwork 4D Experience & Education: 5 Years of Project Management, Superintendent, and/or Estimating Experience; College Degree in Construction Management or Construction-related field. Work Environment: Business to Business Casual Settings and occasional job site visits. Physical Demands: Physical demands for this position are moderate. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending, or lifting of moderately heavy (25-50 pounds) items. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
