Laboratory Maintenance Technician
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Piper Health and Sciences is seeking a motivated Laboratory Maintenance Technician to provide support services to a well-established biotechnology company in the Germantown, MD area. The Maintenance Technician will be the consultant responsible for day-to-day maintenance activities for laboratory equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Maintenance Technician include
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of manufacturing process equipment and laboratory instruments. Oversee routine installation, assembly, and preventative maintenance activities for bioreactors, shakers, centrifuges, mixers, biosafety hoods, stability chambers, sterilizers, autoclaves, glass washers, clean steam systems, freezers, and pumps. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues and ensure compliance with cGMP/GxP requirements Conduct routine inspections and calibration of equipment to meet regulatory and quality standards. Develop and update documentation related to equipment maintenance, repairs, and validation processes. Provide training and guidance to junior technicians in equipment-related tasks.
Qualifications of the Laboratory Maintenance Technician
3-4+ years of experience working in equipment maintenance (biotech, med device or pharmaceutical industry exp. is required) Knowledge in troubleshooting PLC systems, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical systems Experience using CMMS software & Blue Mountain systems Associate’s degree or vocational training in related field is preferred
Compensation of the Senior Equipment Maintenance Consultant
Salary: approximately $40.00 - $50.00 hourly, dependent on experience Benefits: Full Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, 401k, PTO (Paid Time Off)
